(You Went To) Inverleith Park
'(You Went To) Inverleith Park' is a short film shot from a POV perspective and narrated in second person that tells the story of a boy and a girl being reunited for the first time in years. Who are they? What is going through their heads? How will they interact with each other as they meander together through Inverleith Park. The film was shot on August 26th 2021 and is planned for release in the coming months.
James Dawoud - Actor (Dan)
James is a performer based in Edinburgh. He recently graduated with an MA in Musical Theatre from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and played Emmet Forrest in "Legally Blonde" (Edinburgh Festival Fringe) in his end of year production. Since then, his credits include; "Moorcroft" (Tron Theatre), Betram in "All's Well That Ends Well" - (The Show Must Go Online) and "All Things Must Change" (Eden Court) as well as taking on his directorial debut during The Show Face Festival directing the short piece "The Wreck of Them" by Bradley Scott.
Kirsty May Hamilton - Actor (Allegra)
Kirsty May Hamilton is an actor and performance artist. She is drawn to acting roles which subvert the cultural narrative and experimental work which incites radical change. Recent performances include Dancing at the Edge of the World (Replica), and comedy short Cinderella Complex (Interabang Productions). In 2021, her feminist speculative fiction Flesh, was adapted into a piece of hybrid theatre for Paisley Arts Centre’s digital series, Artists in Lockdown.
Sara Hamilton - Assistant Director
Starting out in theatre, I thought I wanted to be an actor. Then when I started getting into film, I realised I wanted to know everything about how film is brought together. I've gained experience in a few departments now and this will be my 2nd time as a 1st AD.
Lizzy Mikietyn - Composer
I am a composer, illustrator and cartoonist based in Edinburgh. Since graduating from the University of Edinburgh with a BA in music in 2020, I have been teaching piano lessons and taking my first steps into the world of freelancing. Although I am primarily working as a cartoonist at the moment, I am looking forward to becoming more involved in my much-neglected other love: composing and arranging music for screen and theatre.
Paul Sasnauskas - Sound Mixer
Paulius (Paul) Sasnauskas is a production sound mixer and an aspiring storyteller from Lithuania, based in Scotland.
After graduating in Sound Production at Edinburgh College he sought opportunities and started working on documentary productions, that is where he found his calling in film sound. Pauls focused, attentive and friendly character allows him to work seamlessly with different production departments on set and maintain good relationships post wrap.
On top of his production sound career, he has credits as Foley artis/recordist, sound designer, dialogue editor, music recording, mixing and mastering engineer.
Melanie Toutakova - Director
Melanie Toutakova is an Edinburgh-based French-Russian emerging filmmaker, writer and programmer. She has a blog called 'The Feminist Film Gaze' which she uses to examine and critique today's film culture through a modern feminist lens. Her opinions and writing have been developed during her BA studying Performing Arts and Film Studies at the Université Paris Nanterre and during her MA studying Directing at Met Film School. She is currently the videographer and photographer for the Edinburgh Short Film Festival. She is always looking for opportunities to collaborate with organisations and individuals in a filmmaking, film writing or film programming capacity.
